Alumni Brett Provost Making College Hockey Strides
Former Jr Wolfpack defenseman Brett Provost is preparing for his senior year at Div III Fitchburgh State. During his final season Provost is going in with a little more clout and a little more responsibility. In recent weeks the Ludlow, Ma native was fortunate to win the Defensive Player of the Year award and with this award Brett was named the Captain for the 2012-13 Falcons. “This comes as no surprise to our staff here to be honest.  Brett was one of the hardest working , committed players I have ever coached and was a great team mate.   He came to us from the Pics program where he was not succeeding or developing and after one season we got him a college hockey commitment. We are very proud to have Brett as one of our alumni and we are very proud of his accomplishments,” said Chris Cerrella.
The 6’2 defenseman is not only committed to his on ice he is committed in the classroom as he will be receiving an academic award ” The Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.”  This award is given to certain students who are nominated who have a 3.2 GPA or higher, displays community involvement, and participation and leadership within a school organization or team.  The former Jr Wolfpack blue-liner and his family have a lot to be excited as he prepares for his last season of college hockey. “It is an amazing feeling to be selected as captain.  Every time I hit the ice I play for my teammates and this only motivates me more to do whatever it takes to get a win for them! I have been very lucky to go from Junior Wolf Pack to FSU, two great programs.  I want to thank Coach Cerrella and the Wolf Pack Organization for giving me the opportunity to get to the college level. I’d also like to thank my teammates, coaches, Coach Fuller at Fitchburg State,” said Brett Provost.
